Some Basic Beliefs

& Disclaimers

Now that we've shared a bit about who we are and what we're trying to do, it may be appropriate to talk a bit about what we're not and make clear some of our basic underlying beliefs. If you would like greater clarity about any of this, or if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at any time!

Greater Hope Today is a non-profit, non-funded, non-discriminatory, non-affiliated, and non-contentious Christ-centered organization.

Not only do we operate as a 501c(3) (meaning, we don’t make a profit off of anything we do), we are also self-funded. We have no source of revenue and most of our Friends donate generous amounts of time and money to help our cause. If you’d like to donate some of your time, talent, or money, we appreciate all the help we can get! Contact us to learn more about how you can help.

GHT does not promote or tolerate religious or theological bigotry and actively seeks to avoid discrimination based on race, gender, religion, national origin, physical or mental disability, age, sexual orientation, marital status, gender and the like and strives to avoid clearly unchristian language and behavior of any kind. (As such, we reserve the right to not post, take down, and otherwise properly address any inappropriate content.) We do however believe in and promote principles of peace, hope, joy, tolerance, mutual understanding, growth and personal development, love, and all other values and principles of good Christian living.

We do not wish to force our beliefs or practices on others, but share what we have learned and has been helpful to us in hopes they might be helpful to others. We believe that all people can believe and worship according to their own conscience, so long as they don't intentionally or carelessly hurt or harm others' lives, liberties, or properties. We believe all people have a responsibility to live according to the light and knowledge they have and that they have a responsibility to continue to seek greater light and knowledge. We believe that all are benefited when we try to work together to help one another augment each other's efforts to so learn and live. None of us should intentionally or carelessly hinder another's efforts to these ends.

The views found on this site and in other materials produced by GHT are our own and do not necessarily represent the views of other organizations or individuals we may have some sort of relationship with. GHT is not officially affiliated with nor sponsored by any particular religious organization, though all Friends do believe that in addition to the Bible, the Book of Mormon contains the word of God, living prophets and apostles walk the earth in our day, God continues to speak to His children across the globe through revelation as He has throughout the generations of time, and God has restored truths that have been lost or corrupted in the past and He continues to reveal new truths in our day. We actively seek to better understand and share these beliefs and others with all who may be interested in them to some degree, in hopes others can better understand and even benefit from them as we have if they so choose. We say to all, bring the good that you have and let us see if we can add even more value to it. We believe we can. We believe that if you are sincerely interested, you can find greater hope, peace, joy and more here, starting today.

If you are interested in learning more about these beliefs and principles and are committed to Christian living and Christian treatment toward all members of the GHT community, then we welcome you as a fellow citizen (see Ephesians 2:19) and hope to get to know you better so we can serve you better. If you are not interested in learning more about these beliefs and principles and / or wish to engage in uncivil, unchristian ways, then we invite you to seek other forums that might be better suited to you (and many exist), as it would seem Greater Hope Today is probably not the best fit for you.

Just as we hope to share our insights with you to try to help you, we welcome your appropriate insights to help us along our personal journeys as well as well as your input of all kinds to help us be true to and advance our organizational purposes. Please feel free to take advantage of the many opportunities throughout our site to provide any insight or input you think would be helpful and we promise to carefully consider it and will try to get back to you as soon as we are able.
